Verified contractors

Every contractor is reviewed by a sylvAI admin — company registration number, license document, and novads of operation — before they can submit a single bid.

Sealed bids

Nobody sees another contractor's price or terms until you accept a winner. Competitive pricing is rewarded; collusion isn't possible.

Two-sided ratings

Both owner and contractor rate each other 1–5 stars. Ratings stay hidden until both sides have rated, or 14 days pass — so neither can retaliate.

VMD + live market data

Inventory comes from Valsts meža dienests. Timber value is tied to live market signals — not opaque multipliers. Every state change is logged.

Does sylvAI handle the payment?
No. The winning bid is recorded on the platform, but the actual payment between owner and contractor happens off-platform — bank transfer or cash, like today. We never take a cut of your harvest.
Do contractors pay to bid?
No. During the MVP, registration, novads alerts, and bidding are free for verified contractors. We want to prove there is real bidding activity before charging anyone.
Where do you operate?
Latvia. Matching between listings and contractors is done by novads (municipality) — about 50 units — not by radius or map polygons.
How fast will offers come in?
You choose the window — 24, 48, or 72 hours. Every verified contractor in your novads is emailed the moment you publish. Median time to first offer is under 12 hours on active listings.
What if nobody bids?
If your listing expires with zero offers, one click extends the deadline by 24, 48, or 72 hours. No need to recreate anything.
Are offers really sealed?
Yes. Each contractor's bid is private until you accept a winner. Other contractors only see the result — not each other's prices or terms.
